Mr. A.Z. Proctor, Jr. ("Proc") passed away Friday, September 24 at Huntsville Hospital. He was the son of A.Z. and Rhoda Proctor, born in Madill, Oklahoma on April 6, 1923.

He is survived by his wife Ethel Welch Proctor, daughter Janice (Charles) Arnold, and son Jerry Author Proctor; all of Scottsboro, AL. Grandsons Michael (Marsha) Arnold of Scottsboro and Justin "Alex" Proctor of Section, AL. One great-granddaughter Leeton Arnold, sister May Eva (Hayden) Collins and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Delbert, Willard, and sisters Marie Metcalf and Mazette Lathem.

Although born in Oklahoma, his family moved to Alabama at an early age and lived the remainder of his life here. He retired from the Scottsboro Electric Power Board. He served in the Navy aboard the U.S.S. Bronstein DE-189 from 1944-1945 and an active member of the American Legion.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, September 27, 2010 at 2 P.M. at Scottsboro Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roger Hobbs. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, September 26, 2010 from 5-9 P.M. at the funeral home.
